It has been over 6 months since we went to Maui and I have not yet documented our trip. I just tried posting it and it posted in October 2010, the date I last saved it. Opps!

On this cold Easter weekend I am longing to be in Maui not CO!

Cadbury Mini Eggs Cookies

i recently discovered a chocolate cadbury egg cookie recipe on our best bites and thought i would try my own with a chocolate chip cookie recipe...and the result was delicious! if you are a cabury lover like me, you will love these cookies.

ingredients:

1 cup {2 sticks} butter, softened

3/4 cup granulated sugar

3/4 cup packed light brown sugar

1 teaspoon vanilla

2 eggs

2 1/4 cups flour

1 teaspoon baking soda

1/2 teaspoon salt

1 10 oz bag cadbury mini eggs

directions:

heat oven to 375. beat butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar and vanilla in large bowl with mixer until creamy. add eggs; beat well. stir together flour, baking soda and salt; gradually add to butter mixture, beating until well blended. crush up the cadbury mini eggs by placing them in a ziplock bag and beating with a rolling pin. stir in the cadbury pieces.

drop by teaspoons onto ungreased cookie sheet. bake 8 to 10 minutes or until lightly browned.

these are simply fantastic and perfect for easter! enjoy.

AZ for dance

When we decided to move one of the hardest things for me (and for Maycee) was leaving dance. After working SO hard all year and moving right in the middle of competition season I was SO sad to pull her from her adorable group of friends. Miss Rebecca the owner of the studio and her teacher asked if we could fly back for the two last competitions in April. After talking to Nate and deciding she should finish the year, we agreed to do it.

What a BLAST we had! Maycee hadn't flown since she was 2-so she was beyond thrilled to go on an airplane and to have a girls trip!! Our dear friend Tresure picked us up and we went straight to the dance studio for Maycee to get her groove on. One of her teachers ran to the car, scooped her up and literally ran her inside to a sea of girls screaming, "Maycee!" I wanted to cry happy tears but I held it together! I was so proud of Maycee because she has not practiced dance everyday for 5 weeks but she went in there and nailed every dance-way to make a momma proud!

Friday the highlight for me was going to Paradise (on of my favs) with some of my favorite girls-Bridget, Brigett and Katie! Then getting my hair done! Is there anything better?!

Friday night Maycee had her solo and rocked it! She got HG (High Gold),first overall and 5th in her division. I think when you are 7 years old the only thing that matters to her is that she gets a trophy! She was happy to hold that gold piece of plastic in her hands to add to her collection at home.

Saturday we went back for her 3 other dances and to cheer PDC on.

*Coin Operated Boy-took HG, 1st in catergory and 2nd overall in jr.
*Freeze Frame-Platinum, 1st in category, 4th overall
*Blast from the past(hip-hop!)-Platinum, 1st in category,1st in overall petities and choreography award for all 11 and under!

It was SO good to be back in AZ. Man, we miss it. It was almost as if we hadn't even moved-it was a really weird feeling. Seeing my dear friends was a highlight for me. For Maycee, dancing with PDC again. Till next time AZ! 3 weeks and we'll be back!!!
