Our sweet prophet died tonight and my heart is sad. He was such a mighty man that served diligently up until he died. He made me laugh, he made me cry and most of all he taught me many principals of goodness. We will miss you Gordon B. Hinckley. I am happy and I know you are happy to be home with your sweetheart.

Every other weekend...

we trade babysitting with our neighbors the Martineaus. We watch kids every other weekend so that we can go on a date at least twice a month! The kids look forward to their"pajama parties" with some of their best friends. As crazy as it can get with seven kids ages 5 and under-I still love it. The kids are hillarious when they start getting on a kick and start laughing their heads off. After a movie and popcorn we put the kids to bed so that the other couple doesn't have too-SOOO nice when your out on a date!! I love that we only have to walk or stroll (as you can see the Martineau kids asleep in the stroller!) the kids across the streets to their own beds! We've been doing this for a year and half now and I hope it continues till our kids are old enough to babysit. I love having neigbhors that I can trust and that are such dear friends of ours.

Future Techies

Last night the kids were all on our bed with their laptops. Easton had his Nintendo DS and Maycee had her new princess V-smile laptop. It was so nice to have them all playing together let alone all happy! We had one of those days.( You know the days where you wish you could escape the MADNESS, snap your fingers and appear on a tropical island with no one but yourself. Yeah right-back to reality Katie!)
Cannon wanted right in on the action so he took it upon himself to go all the way downstairs into the playroom to get the play laptop, carry it back upstairs and climb onto our big bed(with help from Easton). Sweet boy, he thinks he's as big as they are. In our world today kids get cell phones, I-pods, and laptops at such a young age. I remember when I was six my dad bought my mom a microwave-WOW, that was a huge deal to be able to warm up something in 10 seconds. I remember in high school when the Internet became big. I can't imagine life without blogs, email, Internet. I think of the things that I've seen in my lifetime and its crazy to think what our kids will see developed in their lifetime.

Go Roadrunners

We were given tickets to the Roadrunners Hockey Team a couple weeks ago. We invited the Goates to go with us. Our seats were in a suite-so we made ourselves at home, munching on peanuts and snacks and even ordered some hot dogs (yummy, I mean sick-o!) I even learned a few new things about hockey. Had no idea the players can keep fighting/punching until someone goes down. That was a little crazy to see. Who knew you could have such a great time at a Hockey game?! Thanks Meachams for the tickets!

Princess Party

Maycee had such a great birthday. We surprized her with "Belle" at her party. She had no idea. The doorbell rang and out popped Belle! Maycee was so excited! Belle was adorable. She read them a story and brought wands. We had a bounce house, pizza, princess cake, pinata and presents. A typical birthday party and Maycee was in heaven! My friend Tresure stayed and helped paint the girls nails. We even had Princess Tattoos! For her birthday dinner she picked, of all places..Chic-fil-a( yummy, huh?) I was really trying hard to help her with a few more options-Texas Roadhouse, Olive Garden, Red Robin-NOT happening. But when your the birthday girl -the day is all yours. Thanks for being our PRINCESS!
Happy Birthday Hon

Nate turned 32 on Jan 7th. We had some friends over for cake Sunday night. Gotta love the b-day hat( a Budge Tradition). On Monday(his b-day) we made him breakfast in bed, went out to lunch at our favorite place...... Costco! Then ordered take-out at another favorite, Cafe Rio and watched some football that night. For his birthday he got season tickets to ASU football next season, work-out attire and new Sunday clothes. I love this man! I feel so honored to be his wife. He is such an amazing dad. The kids hero is their dad. The ask all day long, "When's dad coming home?" They LOVE him! Nate is my best friend and I am thankful for him in my life. He makes me a better person and I am so lucky to have a best friend like him! Happy Birthday! We love you Nate

Happy Birthday Maycee

I can't believe my baby girl is four. It seems like yesterday she was born on the coldest day of the year. I was in absolute HEAVEN with my baby girl. Dressing her up in all her clothes-she was my REAL doll that I had longed for my whole life. She has brought so much happiness to our lives. There is not a day that goes by that she doesn't bring a smile to our faces. She is such a sweet heart and we are so glad she is apart of our family.
Maycee's FOUR fAVORITES:
1. Anything GIRLY-total diva that loves jewelry and changing her earrings. Dress-ups and make-up!
2. Playing with her babies, pushing them around in her stroller, nursing them and carrying for them
3. Driving her Mustang, her bike, parks, jumping on the tramp=anything outside.
4. Primary-Sunbeams, friends, pre-school and playing with her brothers.
Happy Birthday Sweet Girl, We love you!

Happy New Year
We had a memorable New Years spending it with The Goates, Weirs and Bri's sister Tasha and husband Chris. We hung out and ate, watch some football, played games , banged on pots and pans and toasted to the New Year. We wish everyone a Great 2008. My New Years Resolutions include:
1. Have family scripture study every night
2. Actually plan a FHE lesson instead of pulling something out my hat!
3. Having more patience with my kids
4. Working out 5-6 days a week
5. Going to the temple once a month
6. Spending more time with my kids, having one on one time with each kid
The list could go on and on. But I will spare you all. Happy New Year!!!
