Monsoon Season or should I say FROG season

Yummy Frogs-these are the"Ducks" that croak all night long in our backyard and the kids best friends.
Maddie, Mason and Easton searching for frogs
The whole neighborhood comes out to get their new pets
Braden, Koen and Cannon thinking this is such fun-getting wet in swampy water and holding frogs. They've got their cups ready to attack.
Peyton and Maycee had a whole bucket full. They all had names and they became the newest members of our families. Slowly they died one by one-tears came a flowing. Especially Peyton she gets so attached.

Monsoon season hits Arizona every summer-July and August. When it rains the green belt behind our house fills up and turns into a lake. TONS of frogs come from somewhere, I guess from under the ground and CROAK all night long. It seriously sounds like we live on a farm of ducks. The kids have such a blast catching frogs. They could stay outside all night searching. They love getting dirty and wading in the water. I make them strip outside and then run straight to the bath. My kids are already looking forward to next monsoon season.

Looks like fun! Gross... but fun! When they get older they will probably remember how cool mom was letting them hunt for frogs. They are seriously so cute!

how fun! during this time here, it's cricket season. it's not as much fun to catch crickets and keep them as pets especially as you are trying to get into the grocery store adn there are hundreds of them by the door! we get frogs here after it rains as well, but the only reason I know is because you see them flattened out on the roads from cars hitting them. i think what you have is way more fun than what we have!!

Katie...I forget you have a blog!

How fun is that!! My kids were finding frogs on the playgroud at school everyday too, and wanting to bring them home. :)

You look WAY too cute when you are pregnant! In Cali, and Scottsdale...you make the rest of us look bad!!

I'm going to link you on my blog!

Okay, Dax would FREAK over that many frogs! I don't think I am ever going to be the kind of mom that will go on one of these creature hunts!

Did you get that many frogs from your tadpoles? I'm so impressed. Frogs are the BEST pets.

OMG...my kids live on the wrong street! They would love to play "Frogs" with you guys. Mark found one at work and brought it home, his name is Angelo. I am sure he will die too and the kids will be so sad. (Not me, LOL) We are still at my Mom's. We will be with them for a few months and in the mean time keeping our eye on house in the neighborhood. We are going to try to stay close to the school and in the neighborhood...for the kids sake:) Your D-Land Trip looked SO FUN!! And please tell me that your jeans you were wearing are maternity...seriously, wearing normal jeans in the last trimester...unheard of over here??? Lucky.

I remember catching frogs and skipping them in our pool I still feel bad about it so I don't recommend it. We have wild frogs here as well except its all summer long. Frogs are so weird.
